Before a piece reaches you it passes through four pairs of hands - cloth, block, needle, wash. This is the road every Ethnava kurta takes.
Day 1
The cloth is chosen
A bolt of breathable cotton is checked by hand for slubs, then cut against the pattern.
Day 2
Blocks go down
The motif is stamped in fugitive blue from hand-carved wooden blocks - it washes out, so only thread remains.
Days 3–18
Karigars embroider
Bakhiya, murri, phanda and jaali worked stitch by stitch on a wooden frame. No two pieces come out identical.
Days 19–21
Dhulai, then finish
Washed to lift the print, starched, pressed and checked seam by seam before it's folded away.
